Roberto Burle Marx

Roberto Burle Marx is interested in landscape design as a painting studied in Berlin. Influenced by abstract art and the flora of his native Brazil. He used different color tones to relate the animated paintings and also created a non-identical form to promote the local nature, culture, and forms.

Instead of relying primarily on flowers, he uses the contrast in color and texture of the plant's foliage to create beautiful patterns. He also extends this contrast to other materials such as gravel, pebbles, water, paving, etc. In his eyes, these gardening materials are like a kind of paint on the palette, allowing him to sway freely on the ground. His way of paying attention to the overall color and texture of materials has been learned by many latecomers.

Max's garden also inherits the tradition of Brazil. His design follows Portuguese architecture, tile veneer decorating courtyard walls, entrances to shops and houses, and black and white brown mosaic pavement. The ground pavement seems like a huge abstract painting.
